The bottom of the sea is dry, so dry nothing could grow there. A footstep makes a print in the dry red earth, a few days later it is gone. Washed away by the sea of emptiness. A little girl stands on the shore searching the horizon for air balloons. She stands like that for hours on end, nothingness in front of her. A seed falls from the sky and grows with rapid speed into a tree, an elderflower tree. The dry sea washes over its roots, its salt gnawing at its base. The little girl climbs the tree to get a better view, not noticing the tree is swaying from side to side. Suddenly the great powers of the sea overtakes it and the tree falls. The little girl is thrown into the dryness. Without a cry she disappears in the sea. The bottom of the sea is filled with mermaid tears, so many tears that the sea is dry no more.
