When someone you care about leaves you, you suddenly realise how much time you spent apart from your friends and how much energy you spent on keeping that someone happy. And after they've left you spend all that energy wondering what they are doing, if they have gone on the rebound, if they are thinking of you too, if they're happy, if they're sad, what they had for dinner and the list just goes on and on. You can't stop it whatever you do unfortunately. They just keep popping into your mind. One needs a remedy - something quick and easy, like the opposite of a love potion, an anti-love, anti-longing potion. Is there something like that out there? Friends you say, alcohol you say, drugs, another man/woman? None of those will actually work, not if you were really and truly in love. Time heals all wounds, but if it takes a small eternity what is the point? Longing missing and hoping for years? It's not something to look forward to...time passing when you have a broken heart.
The only thing you wish for is for time to go backwards, for those moments of happiness to return ones again. The moment you first met, the first kiss, the first touch. However, with a broken heart your memories automatically become embedded with sadness and melancholy, the longing for what used to be. The bitterness of what could have been follows shortly.
